Australia has fallen

Tony Abbott has won

We are coming

And again:

1. Tony Abbott is not misogynistic he was the opposition to a woman, what was he supposed to do? Treat her like a frail flower? Instead of treating her like an equal and as the opposition in a political game? He lives with three women, all of which are very supportive of him. I don’t think someone would be very supportive of someone if they were treated like shit. The thing I don’t get is people want equal rights for females but as soon as they are treated equally it’s classed as ‘misogyny’ or ‘sexist.’
2. He might be homophobic but so was Mr Rudd up until he was re-elected in. Do you really think he will legalise gay marriage if he gets in? Kevin Rudd is a puppet for the Labour Party just like Julia Gillard, just like the rest of the Labour leaders. Remember Julia Gillard saying ‘there will be no Carbon Tac under a government I lead?’ How did that turn out?
3. I think everyone has forgotten how bad our country was in 2007 when Mr. Rudd was elected. Everyone is focusing on one point that probably won’t happen and not looking at the bigger picture and seeing all the bad points. Yeah, Tony Abbott isn’t saying that he is going to legalise marriage but that’s one thing, one bad thing out of a million good things that he is promising.
4. Stop listening to the media and start thinking for yourself.

1) He does treat his family like shit. Did you not see the ad where he stood up and said to vote for him because he was the guy with the not-bad-looking daughters? I don’t know why they put up with him, but I don’t know why a lot of people do a lot of things.

2) He didn’t just treat Julia Gillard like shit (which, by the way, is not good politics), he constantly makes snide remarks about women. When asked about the issue of fewer women than men in the workplace, he replied ‘is that necessarily a bad thing?’ This isn’t the only thing he’s said; just the one I can remember at the moment.

3) Kevin Rudd is an open supporter of gay marriage and I’m not sure where you get the idea that he wasn’t. I’ve never heard him not support it. Also, if he was a puppet for the Labor party then surely he would have the same views on gay marriage as Julia Gillard, who opposed it?

4) There wasn’t a carbon tax under the Gillard Government. There was a carbon price. The reason I say it wasn’t a tax is that if you worked somewhere that reduced the level of carbon in the atmosphere (farms that dealt with vast amounts of trees, for example) you could claim money back from the government. You can’t claim money back from the government on a tax unless you pay them too much.

5) I don’t necessarily think that Kevin Rudd is the best person to lead the country. In fact I believe that bringing him in was one of the silliest things the Labor party has done while I’ve been interested in politics. I just think he’s better than Tony Abbott.

6) To bring up extra issues: what about immigration? Under Tony Abbott, restrictions on immigration into Australia are going to increase hugely. Do you really think it’s a good idea to deny entry into a safe and spacious country when the people trying to get in are only trying to leave a dangerous and oppressive environment?

7) Also, education cuts. Tony Abbott is going to cut vast amounts of money from university education to increase funding to non-governmental schools. While I think all education is important, as a university student I have a vested interest in not seeing funds cut, especially since my course in an unpopular one and therefore might be one of the first to go if courses need to be cut to compensate for the budget cuts.

8) Climate change: Tony Abbott has gone on record stating that climate change is basically a load of rubbish, which I think is a load of rubbish. Anyone who can read the signs can tell that the climate is changing drastically and dangerously, and anyone who doesn’t want to acknowledge or do something about that needs to rethink.

9) Don’t ever tell me I only listen to the media and don’t think for myself.

monsterproblem

May I just add that actually, Kevin Rudd definitely did not support gay marriage until quite recently. He did, however, manage to accept what he once did not support, and regardless of whether or not he did this for the public or for himselfKevin Rudd still took the initiative to stand up for the LGBT community which is still something Tony Abbott refuses to do, let alone even think about (which he has made quite clear in various interviews and debates).

Tony Abbott is an idiot - that can go unsaid.

Also, because apparently some people still can’t quite seem to understand:

CLOSING OFF THE BORDERS TO ASYLUM SEEKERS IS NOT A DECISION BORN OUT OF FUCKING RACISM - IT IS AN ECONOMIC ISSUE THAT IS CRIPPLING AUSTRALIA BECAUSE IT IS A FLAWED AND DANGEROUS SYSTEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.
