The look on Dean’s face when he realizes that Cas is OK… This whole phone call was full of character and relationship development. Cas called Dean and immediately wanted him to know what happened with Metatron. Then expressed concern, not for himself, but for Sam, telling Dean he would head straight there to help Sam. And Dean, even with Sam on his deathbed, told Castiel NOT to come because he would be in danger, to take care of himself, to get to the bunker. Dean didn’t want Cas as a tool, he wanted to protect his friend.
